WEIGHTLESS WORLD PREMIERE PRODUCTION IS A HIT!

"The Kilbanes could fly endlessly into space on a single, hypnotically executed chord' - SF Chronicle (highest rating)

"Spectacularly beautiful!" - theaterdogs.net

Weightless is an adaptation of the story of Procne and Philomela found in Ovid’s Metamorphoses: two sisters bound by deep love are separated by a vengeful god and must travel across worlds to find their way back together.

Commissioned by Z Space and Encore Theater Company, Weightless won “Best of Fringe” at the SF Fringe Festival in 2012, and a concert version of the show directed by Becca Wolff made the SF Chronicle's "Top Ten Theater Picks of 2016". The 2018 production, also directed by Becca Wolff, features projection design by Hana Kim, lighting by Ray Oppenheimer, set by Angrette McCloskey, and costumes by Christine Crook. It received SF Chronicle's highest rating, the coveted "Leaping Man".

Weightless is an example of The Kilbanes’ distinct style: a genre-bending theatrical event that combines intimate storytelling with a high energy rock show. In Weightless, the band and the cast are one and the same, blurring the line between actors and musicians, between straight musical theater and concert.
